Xbox Ambassadors, please join me in congratulating November 2019’s Ambassador of the Month – ItzNemesisPrime! Also known in the program as Artyom (for his Discord handle), ItzNemesisPrime has been a part of this community for 8 Seasons and counting. He’s a constant source of positivity in the Xbox Club, on Xbox Live, and in the Discord (where he’s our newest community moderator.) Next time you see him around, say hello! In the meantime, read on below to learn more about his journey so far as a gamer and an Xbox Ambassador.
What first got you interested in gaming, and what platform did you first play on?
When I was around 4 years old, I believe this is when The Sony PlayStation came to my country and became popular, my brother got one and we played games together. I was like, “WOW!” Everything about it was just amazing, and after that I started to play with my friends and made more friends with gaming. It really got me interested in gaming and I fell in love with it. My journey with gaming continued with Xbox 360 and the Xbox One console for more than 10 years. I’ve had many amazing moments in my life throughout the years and I still love playing and enjoy it in most of my free time.
What’s your most memorable positive gaming experience?
Well, it’s hard to choose one when there are many good memories I will never forget. When I was still new to the program, we did a For Honor LFG with other Xbox Ambassadors. There were around 11 people in the party and for me it was my first time gaming with them, but when the LFG ended I became friends with most of them. I was really happy to make that many friends, and to this day I still talk & laugh with the friends I met in that LFG.
Tell us a bit about your life outside of gaming. How do you spend the rest of your time?
Right now I’m a student studying Software Engineering, and my life outside of gaming is studying and helping people through the Xbox Ambassadors Program. In my free time I usually start coding for hours, solving problems and trying to figure out what’s wrong with my code. I believe this is what every programmer does daily. Once or twice a week, I also hang out with my friends outside and enjoy getting us a rest from technology.
What first brought you to the Xbox Ambassadors Program and how do you stay involved?
Where I live, English is the 3rd most popular language for most. Many gamers don’t really understand it so whenever it comes down to getting support, they usually ask friends who can search to find solutions. Most of the time I was busy with finding solutions for my friends, keeping a chat open with Xbox Support and asking them questions – or just searching in google for people who are having the same issue. One day I thought “what if there’s a way I can help not just my friends but everyone in the world?” I opened a chat with official support and asked “is there a way to become a volunteer at Xbox Support?” The agent redirected me to the Ambassadors website and I joined immediately. I was quite happy seeing there isn’t only one but many ways to help people with Chat or Responder or Forums, etc. After that I joined Discord and met all these amazing Ambassadors and the staff of the XA program there. Too many reasons to stay, right?
What’s been your favorite part about being an Xbox Ambassador?
I know it’s a really amazing feeling helping and trying your best to solve someone’s issue, and I like learning more info about Xbox as you go. My favorite part of the Xbox Ambassadors Program, though, is the Ambassadors. On our Discord, you’re gonna find a lot of nice people and you really want to meet them and start talking. You can learn from them, know more about their gaming life, and play games with them. We also share thoughts and discuss interesting topics, and for me this is my favorite part of being an Xbox Ambassador.
As a moderator, why is it so important for you that social spaces in gaming are respectful and safe?
Most of the social spaces are for everyone, and this includes kids and young gamers who are under 18 years old. It’s really important to me to make sure it’s a safe and respectful place for them so they can talk, build friendships, find the right people to play with, and more. Also, parents will make sure their kids are in the right place. I’m no parent but I have a younger brother, and seeing him in a safe and respectful place really matters to me. The same goes for kids and young gamers around the world.
You’re always such a positive presence in the Xbox Ambassadors Discord server. What motivates you to be friendly toward your fellow gamers?
It’s because when I look back on my life, most of my memories are those spent with my friends. I remember laughing with them, lounging around my friend’s houses playing video games. These for me have been the most meaningful experiences and my fondest memories. I realize that in the end, shared happiness brings the most joy into my life. That motivates me to be kind and friendly to everyone I meet, and to greatly value my friends.
Why is it important to make gaming fun for everyone?
When you don’t see yourself in a game, it’s a bit harder to connect with. It’s not until you have that moment where you see yourself in-game and realize how much you’ve been missing. I want people to see that, tell stories about it, and have fun. That’s why it’s important to make gaming fun for everyone.
What advice would you give to an Ambassador who is brand new to the program?
You can have a lot more fun than just helping people, by joining the XA Discord server. You’re gonna make a lot of new friends, learn a lot from other Ambassadors, and there are lots of amazing channels to check out daily like news, events, etc. Also, don’t be shy to ask any question that comes to mind. Good luck and I can’t wait to meet you there.
Three cheers for ItzNemesisPrime!
We’re so excited to see ItzNemesisPrime join the growing list of community members who have been spotlighted as Ambassadors of the Month. He’s a great example of what it means to be an Ambassador in our community’s social spaces and in the wider Xbox Live community. Do you know someone who would make a great Ambassador of the Month?
